This EOS consists of a very simple, almost vdW-like repulsion term, a simple attraction term, and a correction for the critical region. In spite of its simple shape it achieves almost reference quality for many properties of simple fluids.

In contrast to most reference EOS, this equation can be generalized to mixtures.

For mixture calculations the following mixing theories are available:

• 1FS: the author's original mixing theory, a Soave-style 1-fluid mixing theory [1]
• 1F: van der Waals 1-fluid mixing theory
